The only thing you have to watch out for are traps. There's been times where I've cleared an entire room without dodging because enemies die in a few strikes and it's more effective to just rush them and attack while fully taking any hits because they barely sting. Your character is nimble and the tells are very clear so that you're forced to plan tactics to separate enemies and pick them off one by one as best as you can.Ĭurse of the Dead Gods ignores this principle and instead makes you an unstoppable force of nature. I'm used to having to dodge/parry perfectly in these games to avoid enemy attacks because every hit is extremely punishing and draws you closer to an untimely end. Why else would they make you an absolute TANK? I've played just a bit more and what I state below remains the same, but with a caveat.Īfter doing four full runs, I now firmly believe the devs are fully aware the game isn't as sharp in its handling as other roguelikes and have simply chose to let it be that way.
